Our School
Welcome!
WCHS Families,
As we embark on yet another year of learning and fun at Wright City High School, I want to take a moment to welcome back all our returning students and families as well as welcoming our new students and families into the Wright City High School community. 2024-25 promises to be a historic year in the history of WCHS as we will make the move into our new building on Roelker road. There will be challenges and adjustment, but I for one welcome the task of making our operations run smoothly at the new facility. We will be communicating with all our stakeholders during the process of the move as to dates, times, and new procedures related to the new building. The staff of WCHS asks humbly for your support and patience with all the new logistics related to the move. I am confident that by the time the year is concluded we will all be proud of the progress we have made in getting used to our new surroundings.
With the impending move being at the forefront of most of our thoughts, it would be easy to lose a little focus on our primary goal of educating students. The staff of WCHS is dedicated to our students’ success and to finding the path that best fits their post graduation goals. We will also endeavor to maintain the academic success we had displayed on End of Course Exams and our building level Annual Performance Review over the last several years despite the adjustments related to our move. We will keep our eyes on the prize when it comes to our day to day instructional and assessment efforts over the course of the school year.
We will continue to ask students to keep cell phones off and away during class periods this year and will continue to use a restorative and educational piece in conjunction with the student discipline guide when addressing behavior concerns. We will also look to find ways to improve our overall attendance and the attendance of individual students as well. We will also look to greatly reduce the number of late arrivals to school that along with full day absences negativity affect student learning.
The faculty and staff of Wright City High School look forward to partnering with families and students to have another great school year. It is our goal to provide the best possible educational and overall high school experience for our Wildcats. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have throughout the year.
Sincerely,
Matt Brooks
